Xin Yu Qiu Lan, Spring 2011, 357gram Raw Puer Cake
General Information: Yunnan Broad Leaf Varietal, Old tree tea, Naturally post fermented. Hand picked, rolled and sun dried. Stone-pressed.
Cake: Well pressed, with a good distribution of tips and leaves. Again, fairly loose, so the cake will age nicely.
Broth & flavour: Xin Yu Qiu Lan rukou has a leisurely kuwei which transforms very quickly to produce an excellent huigan and a slight astringence. The cup is sweet/mixiang. On drinking, there is a lingering fragrance, reminiscent of honeysuckle or nasturtiums. The shengjin is good. The chaqi of this tea is strong in a 'Menghai' way. The huigan, lasts extremely well and forms a very pleasant feeling in the throat which can last for a good hour or so.
The broth is a clear, bright golden yellow.
